South Korean UTG manufacturers entering the Chinese market will accelerate the process of flexible OLED folding screens
On August 9, it was reported that K-glass, a glass processing company, will enter China’s foldable ultra-thin glass (UTG) market. The company will enter the Chinese market through the South Korean software company (SW) Softcen.
UTG adopts strengthening process to enhance the flexibility and durability of 30μm ultra-thin glass. During the processing, special materials are injected into the ultra-thin glass to ensure its uniform flexibility. Samsung is the only company that has applied UTG to its Galaxy Z series of foldable phones so far. Its recently launched new GalaxyFold3 and GalaxyFlip3, as well as new foldable phones made by Chinese companies, will use UTG foldable panels made by Samsung Display. As South Korean manufacturers enter the Chinese market, they are expected to accelerate the process of flexible OLED folding screens, and companies in related fields are expected to attract attention.
Voge Optoelectronics is involved in the research and development of a folding mobile phone cover project, which is a UTG project with a cover thickness of less than 0.025mm and suitable for ultra-thin flexible glass. The company has completed the technical process of the product company and is waiting for the customer’s product to enter the pilot phase;
Changxin Technology’s UTG thinning technology is the industry leader, with the entire process technology of flexible glass cover from thinning, cutting, section treatment and glass surface treatment.
