Piezo element working principle
When voltage acts on piezoelectric ceramics, mechanical deformation will occur with the change of voltage and frequency. On the other hand, when piezoelectric ceramics are vibrated, an electric charge will be generated. Using this principle, when an electrical signal is applied to a vibrator composed of two piezoelectric ceramics or a piezoelectric ceramic and a metal sheet, the so-called double piezoelectric chip element, ultrasonic waves will be emitted due to bending vibration. On the contrary, when ultrasonic vibration is applied to the dual piezoelectric wafer element, an electrical signal will be generated. Based on the above functions, piezoelectric ceramics can be used as ultrasonic sensors.
